The Grassroots Justice Prize competition recognizes grassroots organizations and institutions, large and small, across the globe, that are working to put the power of law in people's hands.
This year's competition includes three awards. Each of the three winners will receive $10,000 USD and will be honored at a high-profile ceremony in Argentina on World Justice Day (20 February 2018).
The #WalkTogether Prize for Courage
#WalkTogether is a global campaign to champion the voices and deeds of groups that work to advance the freedoms that unite us. Learn more about the campaign at walk-together.org. The winner of this prize will be determined through a public vote that will run until January 21st, 2018 at midnight EST.
The Achmed Dean Sesay Memorial Prize for Innovation
In honor of Achmed Sessay, a great champion of justice and a pioneer in the growing field of legal empowerment. The winner will be determined by a panel of judgesconsisting of leaders and visionaries in the field of legal empowerment.
The Nomboniso Nangu Maqubela Memorial Prize for Scale and Sustainability
In honor of Nomboniso Nangu Maqubela, a tireless advocate for community-based paralegals and access to justice. The winner will be determined by a panel of judgesconsisting of leaders and visionaries in the field of legal empowerment.
